Cosmetic Dentistry

Teeth Whitening

We offer teeth whitening options for patients who want to brighten their smile, with treatment planning that considers suitability, expected outcomes and ongoing care after whitening.

Veneers

Dental veneers are a cosmetic treatment option we offer for suitable patients looking to address surface-level concerns such as discolouration, minor chips and uneven sizing, with porcelain and composite resin options assessed on an individual basis.

Dental Bridges

We offer dental bridges as a restorative option for patients with one or more missing teeth, anchoring an artificial tooth to the surrounding teeth to restore function and appearance without the need for a surgical procedure.

Dental Implants

We manage the full dental implant process for suitable patients from initial assessment through to final restoration, offering a long-term approach to replacing missing teeth that does not rely on the surrounding teeth for support.

Dental Crowns

For teeth significantly weakened by decay, fracture or previous dental work, we assess and place dental crowns to rebuild strength and function, with same-day restorations available for suitable cases using CEREC technology.

Orthodontic - ClearCorrect

ClearCorrect is a removable clear aligner system we offer as an orthodontic option for suitable patients, providing a discreet and flexible approach to addressing teeth alignment concerns compared to traditional fixed braces.

Endodontic

We provide endodontic treatment including root canal therapy to address infection and damage affecting the inner tooth, working to preserve the natural tooth where possible and relieve discomfort caused by decay or trauma.

Full and Partial Dentures

For patients who have lost some or all of their teeth, we offer full and partial dentures tailored to individual clinical needs, with partial dentures available in either acrylic or metal frame depending on the patient's circumstances.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • When is a root canal needed?

A root canal may be needed when the pulp inside the tooth becomes inflamed or infected, often due to deep decay, trauma, cracks or repeated dental work on the same tooth. Symptoms can include lingering sensitivity, pain when biting, swelling or tenderness, although some infected teeth cause very few symptoms at first. The procedure involves removing the affected pulp tissue, cleaning and shaping the canals and sealing the space to reduce the risk of ongoing infection. Root canal treatment is generally used when the aim is to keep the natural tooth rather than remove it.

  • What happens if an infected tooth is left untreated?

Leaving an infected tooth untreated carries risks that can extend beyond the tooth itself. The infection can spread to the surrounding bone and tissue, and in more serious cases may affect adjacent teeth or lead to more widespread complications that are significantly more complex to manage. In many cases, an untreated infected tooth will eventually require extraction, which then introduces the need to consider tooth replacement options. Endodontic treatment, where clinically appropriate, aims to address the infection and preserve the natural tooth, which is generally considered preferable to extraction from a long-term oral health perspective.

  • What happens after ClearCorrect treatment is complete?

Once active aligner treatment is complete, some form of retention is typically recommended to help maintain the new position of the teeth. Without retention, teeth can gradually shift back toward their original position over time — a process known as relapse. Retainers are commonly worn at night and are an important part of the overall treatment outcome. The type of retainer recommended and how long it needs to be worn will depend on the individual case and will be discussed with your dentist as part of the completion of your treatment.

Orthodontic - ClearCorrect

ClearCorrect orthodontic aligners can offer a discreet and convenient way to straighten teeth without the need for traditional braces. Custom-made for each patient, these clear aligners gradually move teeth into their ideal position while remaining comfortable and virtually invisible when worn.

Removable for eating, drinking and oral hygiene, ClearCorrect aligners fit seamlessly into everyday life. Designed using advanced digital technology, they provide a personalised treatment experience for patients seeking an effective, modern solution to help achieve a healthier, more confident smile.

Endodontic Treatment

At Mareeba Dental Centre, our endodontic treatments aim to help save natural teeth affected by infection, inflammation or damage within the dental pulp. Commonly known as root canal therapy, this procedure removes infected tissue, cleans and seals the root canals, and helps preserve the tooth's function and appearance.

Modern endodontic techniques are designed to prioritise patient comfort and precision, often providing relief from pain while preventing the need for extraction. By retaining the natural tooth structure, endodontic treatment can support long-term oral health and a confident smile.

Full & Partial Dentures

At Mareeba Dental Centre, we provide full and partial dentures for patients who have lost some or all of their teeth, offering a removable solution that restores function and appearance. Full dentures replace an entire arch of teeth, while partial dentures fill the gaps left by one or more missing teeth, with options available in acrylic or metal frame depending on the patient's clinical needs.

Each denture is tailored to the individual, taking into account the shape of the mouth, bite and aesthetic goals to support a comfortable and natural-looking result. We work with patients through each stage of the fitting process to ensure the final restoration meets their needs and sits comfortably during daily use.
